Best AI receptionists in the UK (2026): 10 compared

An AI receptionist is a virtual assistant that answers your business phone, takes messages and books appointments, day and night. UK plans run from £19.99 a month for a self-service tool to £200 to £500 a month for a service that is built and looked after for you. Prices checked October 2026.

Quick verdict

If you want the lowest price and are happy to set the tool up yourself, the self-service tools below are cheaper than ours, and several offer a free trial. If your phone is how customers book, and you want someone else to write the call flows, test them and keep them working, My AI Voice Agent is built for that: a flat monthly fee from £200, calls never cut off, and a 30-day results guarantee.

The honest summary: we are not the cheapest and we say so. Pick on how much of the setup you want to do, not on the entry price alone.

The 10 compared

Prices were read from each provider's own public page on 24 October 2026, except RingCentral, whose figure is from its August 2025 announcement as recorded on our RingCentral page (checked 7 October 2026). Where a page does not show a figure we write “not shown” and do not estimate. We have not tested the other products. Our own details are on our pricing page; prices exclude VAT.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI receptionist in the UK?

It depends on what you need. For the lowest entry price, self-service tools from Team-Connect (from £19.99 a month), Fasthosts, IONOS, Hey Jodie and Ringmere start under £50 a month. For a service where someone else writes, tests and looks after the call flows, My AI Voice Agent costs £200, £350 or £500 a month plus a one-time setup fee and comes with a 30-day results guarantee. Prices checked October 2026.

How much does an AI receptionist cost in the UK?

Published UK prices we found in October 2026 run from £19.99 a month (Team-Connect Lite) to £349 a month (Callout AI Business), with enterprise tiers higher. BT, RingCentral and Moneypenny did not show a current pound price on their public pages. My AI Voice Agent charges a flat £200, £350 or £500 a month plus a one-time setup fee of £500, £750 or £1,000.

Is there a free AI receptionist in the UK?

No full service is free, but several tools offer a free trial: Fasthosts and IONOS list one month, and Hey Jodie and Ringmere list seven days. My AI Voice Agent has no free trial; you can hear it on the homepage demo or the demo line first, and the 30-day results guarantee covers the first month and setup fee if the agreed target is missed.

What is the difference between a self-service and a done-for-you AI receptionist?

With a self-service tool you set up the call flow yourself in a portal and usually pay for minutes or calls. With a done-for-you service the provider writes the script, builds it, tests it and maintains it for a flat monthly fee. Self-service is usually cheaper at low volume; done-for-you saves your time and suits businesses that book work by phone.

Do AI receptionists have UK accents?

Some do. Callout AI lists an advanced UK-accent voice on its Standard, Pro and Business plans, and Team-Connect describes a natural British voice. Fasthosts, IONOS, Hey Jodie and Ringmere did not name a UK voice on the pages we read. Listen to a demo call before you commit.
